start with the left side and multiply out the 3(4-2x): 12-6x
then subtract 12 from both sides: -6x=-2x-12, then add 2x to both sides to get the x by itself and combine like terms:
2x-6x=-12 --> -4x=-12, then divide both sides by -4
x=3 is your answer
3(4 – 2x) = –2x
