Starting with x blooms, we have

(1 - 3/14 - (2/5)(11/14))x = 66
33/70 x = 66
x = 140
Hello. I will clarify it a little better.
11/14 rosebuds either bloomed today or will bloom. 2/5 of 11/14 (2/5*11/4) is 22/70. Then, 3/14 (bloomed yesterday) = 15/70. Then add 15/70+22/70. You get 37/70. This means that 33/70 = 66 rosebuds not bloomed yet. Then, divide 33/70 by 33 and 66 by 33. This gives you 1/70 = 2. Since 1/70 equals 2 rosebuds, when the numerator reaches 70/70, it will be 140 rosebuds. I hope this helped.
