I am sorry to ask this question, but should the ft not have been converted to inches first?
The way I see it, the model is 1/80 of the original.
60' = 720"
720" divided by 9" = 80"
35' = 420"
420 divided by 80 = 5.25
Am I correct in my reasoning?

Because a proportion is used, converting the units is not actually necessary in this case. Your reasoning is correct, but so is drwls's.
