    perimeter is when you add the outer lines together. So draw a diagram of the two squares as one, and take out the line in the middle I believe?
6 cm on three sides of the small square. Then 8 on three sides of the big one. And the short side, you do 8-6=2. So add together 6+6+6+8+8+8+2
