One of the darker actions explored in this unit is betrayal, as seen in "Othello" by William Shakespeare where Iago's jealousy and desire for revenge prompt him to deceive and manipulate Othello into believing his wife is unfaithful. If Iago were able to overcome his darker impulse, the story would have a different outcome with less tragedy and destruction.
