DIVIDE 34 3/8 BY 3 1/8
MULTIPLY 34 * 8 TO GET 272, ADD 3 TO GET 275/8
THEN MULTIPLY 3*8 TO GET 24 AND ADD 1 TO GET 25
NOW DIVIDE 275/8 BY 25/8
YOU GET 11 DRESSES

34 3/8 divided by 3 1/8 =
275/8 divided by 25/8 =
(275/8) * (8/25) = 2200/200 = 11
A simpler way would be to change the fractions to decimals.
34.375 / 3.125 = 11
275/8 divided by 25/8 =
(275/8) * (8/25) = 2200/200 = 11
A simpler way would be to change the fractions to decimals.
34.375 / 3.125 = 11
