The ratio of staff to patients at Lakeview is 8 to 7. If the total staff plus patients is 1575 people, how many staff are at Lakeview?

I do not know how to work with ratios, can anyone help?

Of 15, 8 are staff, 7 are patients:

How many 15's are there in 1575?
1575/15=106
so staff= 106*8
and patients= 106*?

Ok, I got that there are 105 15's in 1575 making the rest 105*8=840
105*7=735
right?
