When we see an object's color, it is because of the way light interacts with the object's surface.

For example, let's consider a red apple. The color red appears because the apple's surface absorbs all the colors of white light except for red. When white light from the sun or a light source hits the apple, the surface of the apple reflects red light and absorbs all other colors. This reflected red light then enters our eyes, allowing us to perceive the apple as red.

So, in this example, absorption is the process where the apple absorbs all colors of light except for red. Reflection is the process where the apple's surface reflects red light back to our eyes. And transmission is not relevant in this scenario because the light is not passing through the object.
