Why is there no more kings and queens in egypt?

There is no longer a monarchy in Egypt because in 1952, a military coup led by Gamal Abdel Nasser resulted in the overthrow of King Farouk and the establishment of a republic. The revolution aimed to end British colonial influence and establish a more democratic and egalitarian system of government. As a result, the monarchy was abolished and the last king, King Farouk, was forced to abdicate. Since then, Egypt has been governed as a republic with an elected president as the head of state.
