Hope Mom baked a cake in rectangular shape 10 by 6. If she starts at the corner and put acndle every 2 inches how many candles will fit around the edge of the cake?

I will assume you mean 10 inches by 6 inches.
10 + 6 + 10 + 6 = 32 inches for the cake's perimeter, right? Divide by 2, and you get 16 candles.
So test it. Draw a rectangle 10" x 6" and mark a circle every two inches, starting from one of the corners. I think you'll find the number of candles is not 16!!
