As Bobpursley recommended, please get a tutor you can meet with in person.

Answered by LeAnn/Please help me
I am working on getting a tutor to meet in person. I meet with someone after Thanksgiving but that does not help me now. After this week I do not have classes for two weeks anyways so I just need to get through this week and try to understand most. Sorry if I'm inconveniencing you. I'm just trying to get help with what I'm having a hard time with.
Here is what I did with this problem and I not only confused myself but got stuck too.

4m+n=4
n=4-4m
m-4(4-4m)=35
m-16+16=35
3m=32
Please tell me where I'm going wrong.

Here is your starting system
4m+n=4
m-4n=35

from the first: n = 4 - 4m , you had that
now into two:

m - 4n = 35
m - 4(4 - 4m) = 35
m - 16 + 16m = 35
17m = 51
m = 51/17
m = 3

then in n = 4 - 4m
n = 4 - 4(3) = -8

Now compare that with your steps.

Thank you Reiny. So I had the right idea, I just couldn't get it from there. That's all I'm asking for is a little help to better understand this stuff. I'm not asking anyone to help me cheat or give me all the answers.
