already answered, but once more:
3km x 200m x5
= 3km x .2km x 5
= 3 (km)^2

or

3km x 200m x5
= 3000m x 200m x 5
= 3000000 m^2
but 1000000 m^2 = 1 (km)^2
so we have 3 (km)^2
