1C. In your own words, describe the relationship between temperature and how molecules move.

1 answer

As the temperature of a substance increases, the molecules within that substance gain more energy and move faster. This increase in movement causes the molecules to collide with each other more frequently and with greater force. Conversely, a decrease in temperature leads to a decrease in molecular movement and a corresponding decrease in collision frequency and force. In general, higher temperatures result in more chaotic and rapid molecular movement, while lower temperatures lead to slower and more controlled movement.
