How do you figure out the molecular weight?

Take the sum of the atomic weights.
For example,
C2H4 =
Atomic weight C = 12 (approximately)
Atomic weight H = 1 (approximately)
2 x 12 = 24
4 x 1 = 4
molecular weight C2H4 = 28 (close)
