Think of what appliances, electronics, and utilities require energy. You can do this just by looking around your house and seeing what has a plug. Then, think of the consequences of what would happen if these things are always running. Who would get affected? Would it cause acid rain? Would it affect air quality? One example to get you started is the computers in landfills. If people used them less frequently and didn't abuse them, they could last longer, people wouldn't have to get a new one so frequently, thus there would be less computers in landfills.

The major environmental problems that call for energy conservation are:
* air pollution
* global warming
* finite supplies of nonrenewable resources
