Yes. A common method of propagation is to put a stem into water or other medium. Roots grow from leaf nodes, and at least in the case of African violets, grow from the end of the stem where it was attached to the crown.
i do know that but i don't know what makes it possible for a stem to give rise to roots. I'm taking plant Biology
