What do you look at to compare numbers in Scientific Notation?

1 answer

When comparing numbers in Scientific Notation, you should look at the numerical values of the coefficients (the numbers before the "x10^" part) and the exponents. Compare the coefficients first, and then the exponents. If the coefficients are equal, compare the exponents. If the coefficients are not equal, the number with the greater coefficient is larger. If the coefficients are equal, the number with the greater exponent is larger.
