Question
I have to answer this question for chemistry. It deals with ionic compounds, like how when an atom loses or gains electrons, energy is involved. So the question is
Would the same amount of energy that's taken, be given off? (lost/gained)

Yes. When the electrons rejoin the atom, it gives off the same amount of energy that it took to remove them originally.
