How do you add a negative fraction and 2 postive fraction with diffrent denomenators

Answered by Ms. Sue
You first have to find a common denominator for all three fractions.

Then, add the two positive fractions and subtract the negative fraction.

Example:

1/2 - 3/4 + 5/6 = 6/12 - 9/12 + 10/12 = 7/12
