1st two are ok
2.9x10^11 = 0.029x10^13
Now you can add them to get
3.729 x 10^13
2.9x10^11 = 0.029x10^13
Now you can add them to get
3.729 x 10^13

you need to remember that you can always multiply by 1 without changing anything. The trick is to make sure that the units cancel correctly
1 ton = 2000lb
that means that
1ton/2000lb = 2000lb/1ton = 1
8.9*10^5ton * 2000lb/ton * 1kg/2.204lb = 8076*10^5kg
or,
8.076*10^8kg
or,you could have looked up the conversion factor
907.185kg/ton
making the calculation in one step:
8.9*10^5ton * 907.185kg/ton = 8076*10^5kg
1 ton = 2000lb
that means that
1ton/2000lb = 2000lb/1ton = 1
8.9*10^5ton * 2000lb/ton * 1kg/2.204lb = 8076*10^5kg
or,
8.076*10^8kg
or,you could have looked up the conversion factor
907.185kg/ton
making the calculation in one step:
8.9*10^5ton * 907.185kg/ton = 8076*10^5kg
