Does anyone know how to type algebra problems in my macbook computer to post to a thread?

We do not support latex, but we do support some HTML code and unicode characters.
For example, to type the greek letter alpha, you would type "& a l p h a ;" but without the intevening spaces and the double quotes.
Otherwise, you would flatten the formula using adequately supplied parentheses, such as
f(x)=((1/2)x²+5x+3)/(4x+3)
