If a tsunami is traveling at the speed of 500 miles per hour across the Pacific, how far has it gone in 15 minutes?

If it goes 500 miles in one hour, it will go 250 miles in half that time or 30 minutes. Since 15 minutes is a quarter of an hour you divide 500 into a quarter or 125 miles.
