a barrier island is 1 km wide and 10 km long. If erosion by a longshore current causes the island to lose 1.5 m of its with per year, how long will it take for the island to lose one-fourth of its width?

1 km = 1000 m

0.25 * 1000m = 250m = 1/4 of its width

250 / 1.5 = ? years

Lina it is not nice to call other people "dumbys" (dummies) you are the one who is wrong you can multiply 0.25 and 1,000 =250 after you can divide 250 and divided by 1.5 which the answer is 166.66666 and so on and on.
