Can someone help me how to solve this problem please?

well move the x's over to one side and the numbers without the x's over to the other

5x-6=4x+2
-4x -4x

x-6=2
+6 +6
_________
x=8

get x on one side ---> subtract 4x fro both sides

get numbers on one side--->add 6 to both sides
