How is 6y^2(2y^0)^2 equal to 24y^2 as my book says? I got 144y^5 by raising each number and coefficient to the second power and multiplying 36 by 4. Thanks for your help.

The six is not squared!
6 * y2 * (2*y^0)2
6* y2*(4)=24 y2
6 * y2 * (2*y^0)2
6* y2*(4)=24 y2
