A region is an area that has geography, or language or culture in common. A region can be a small area like a region of your city. It can be a large area like the Middle East or the American West.
A continent is a large land mass, usually larger than an island. Check this map for the names and locations of the continents. Please note that the names of the continents are in all CAPITAL LETTERS.
A hemisphere is one half a sphere. The world is divided into four hemispheres: Northern and Southern Hemispheres; Eastern and Western Hemispheres. North America is in the Northern and Western Hemispheres.
