Question

I have to write complex sentences with some hard words like contentious, diffident, and gregarious for example. Anyone know of a web site that may help???

When I looked up the word diffident, I found the meaning.

Because diffident describes how I write English sentences, I could not give good examples.

After I practiced using diffident as a word, my self-confidence increased.

When you put an independent clause (can be a sentence on its own) together with a dependent clause (has a subject and verb but isn't a sentence on its own) you have a <b>complex sentence</b>.

Now ... for the words ...

Go to http://www.answers.com and look each one up. <b>In addition to definitions for each word, you will often find a sample use</b> of the word in a phrase. (If you don't find a sample use in the first definition you see, keep scrolling down until you find one.) You can take that phrase and alter it to make a sentence you can use. For example --
