I need to graph the following equation
y=x+7
and then identify the y-intercept
(which I think is the 7)?
Please guide me on this one...ty:)

The y intercept is 7, good job.

So you have one point - (0, 7) - the y intercept.

Now, graph another point so you can draw a line...any point will do really. For example, x=1, which gives a nice y value.

At x = 1, y = 1+7 = 8.

So your second point is (1, 8).

Plot those points, draw a line connecting them (the slope of y=x+7 is constant so the equation is completely linear) and extending infinitely in either direction (use arrows).
