Karen goes to the fruit shop and buys brocoli and carrots. She paid twice as much for the brocoli as the carrots even though she got half the weight. If the total bill was $4.50 and the carrots were 50 cents a kilo how much per kilo did she pay for the brocoli?

When broccoli costs twice as much for half the weight, the cost per pound is four times that of carrot. So cost of broccoli cost 4 * 0.50$ = $2.00 per kilo.

Note: the $4.50 is used to distract the logic of the calculations and is not used to calculate the unit price of broccoli.
