What instrument measures very high temperatures-not looking for thermometer.
Depending upon how hot the temperature is that you are trying to measure, you might use a thermistor, thermocouple, or optical pyrometer, to name just three. I have used an optical pyrometer to measure the temperature of an electrically heated furnace that was red-orange hot.I hope this helps.
