Technology is having a negative effect on interaction between people today. Look at how families interact now: hardly any of them sit down together to eat at a dinner table. Family members just rush off to their next thing to do. Statistics show that 28% of families feel like they spend less time together and more time with personal technology.
Look at how people act toward one another: young people will let the door slam behind them instead of holding it for a senior citizen. Look at how people interact: instead of listening to what another person has to say, most people choose to look at their mobile device to see check to see if anyone else has called. In fact, four out of five smartphone users check their phones within 15 minutes of waking up (according to social media surveys).
Speaking of cell phones, look at how cameras are ruining experiences. Instead of going to a show and enjoying the music, people take pictures just to show that they were there. Many concert performers now go to the special length of asking the audience to enjoy the show through personal interaction as opposed to watching through their cell phones. This in addition to the security personnel, stage artists, and signs who all warn people away from creating their own personal video of the event.
