The circulatory system is responsible for the transportation of oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and waste products throughout the body, while the respiratory system facilitates the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the air and the blood. These systems work together by oxygen-rich blood from the lungs being pumped by the heart to all parts of the body through blood vessels, and carbon dioxide, a waste product, being carried back to the lungs to be exhaled.
