Hi,
What does it mean to find the 5% trimmed mean of a set of data? I understand what it means to find the 10%, butI don't understand how to calculate the mean if its trimmed 5%.

Trimmed means have different definitions. The usual meaning on this would be to remove the lowest 5 percent of data, and the highest five percent

So if you had 20 data points, remove the lowest and highest, then computet mean.

A few texts this would mean to remove 5 percent of the data, 2.5 from the lowest, and 2.5 from the highest. Such is language in modern times. Check your text.
