In May 2011, the New York Public Library celebrated its 100th birthday. The library is home to many treasures. It has one of the first printed books in the western world, writing desks belonging to famous authors, and one of the oldest known globes. To celebrate 100 years of service, the library held a scavenger hunt for 500 lucky people. Afterward, people wrote stories about what they found. The library planned to turn these stories into a book to be kept in the library permanently.
