Who is involved in James Overthorpe, arriving in Georgia and finding Savannah

1 answer

James Oglethorpe was the main person involved in the settlement of Georgia and the founding of Savannah. He was a British philanthropist and politician who established the colony of Georgia in 1733 as a haven for debtors and a buffer between Spanish Florida and the Carolinas. Oglethorpe led a group of colonists on the ship Anne, and upon arrival in Georgia, he selected the site for the settlement of Savannah.
