Five games in 1970 provided the most memorable stretch of George Blanda's football career. At 43, Blanda led the Oakland Raiders to four wins and one tie with his last-minute heroics. First, Blanda threw three touchdown passes to beat Pittsburgh. The following week, Blanda kicked a long, last-second field goal to tie Kansas City. Against Cleveland, Blanda boomed a game-winning 52-yard field goal. He followed that with a winning touchdown pass against Denver. Finally, he finished the streak with a field goal in the closing seconds in San Diego. Deemed too old, Blanda had been released by Houston three years earlier. After his heroics, the press called him "Mr. Miracle."
