What is the difference between a direct object and an indirect object? answer short, and like a 7th grader wrote it

1 answer

A direct object is the thing or person that receives the action of the verb directly. An indirect object is the thing or person that receives the direct object. So, the direct object is the main thing happening, while the indirect object comes after and kinda gets the direct object.
