I have looked up on the internet the wife of shakespear. They say her name is Anne Hathaway some other sites say her name was Anne Whately. What is the right answer?

Most sources throughout history have said that Shakespeare's wife was Anne Hathaway. However, the name Anne Whately is listed on his marriage license as his wife. It's believed that was a careless error on the part of the clerk who wrote the license.
