The Big Bang Theory is widely accepted because there is scientific data to support it. Cosmic radiation that has been detected in space was predicted by the theory. Galaxies are moving away from a central point as they would after a huge explosion. Objects older than 13 or 14 billion years have not been found. The Steady State Theory has been proven to be wrong. The theory states that the universe never changes and that the amount of density in the universe never changes. However, data has shown that galaxies do change. Also, the Steady State Theory cannot explain why there is cosmic radiation in space.
