how do you write this number in standard form. I will have to write the -2 in brackets because it is supposed to be a power to number but I do not know how to type that out. So the number is 10(-2). You would say 10 to the power of -2 I think.

recall that a-b
= 1/ab
so 10-2
= 1/102
= 1/100
not sure what you mean by 'standard form' as it relates to powers,
only positive exponents? if so, then my second last line of the above answer should do it.
