The choroid and the auricle are similar because,
one collects light and the other collects sound?

You might say that, but the choria does no really "collect" light; it provides a way for the retina to receive blood for nourishment. The retina does the "collecting" of light. The auricle (or "pinna") collects and funnels sound into the ear.
