Write a word and balanced chemical equation for a burning candle.

I know that the paraffin in the candle has the formula C20H42 , but I don't know what else to do...

You are oxidizing (burning) the wax. The C is oxidized to CO2 and the H is oxidized to H2O.
C20H42 + O2 ==> CO2 + H2O.
