You know if something has energy by seing if it moves. which is kinetis energy.
but for instance a plant does not move but u kno it has energy because it 1-breathes 2-requires food 3- required sunlight. and although it doesnt move it still does something

Energy is the ability to do work.
The two main types are kinetic energy (the energy of motion) and potential energy (stored energy).
Anything moving (relative to you) has energy because it has kinetic energy.
But things that are not moving (relative to you) can also have energy. If you lift a bowling ball 3 feet off the ground, you have stored energy in the bowling ball due to its elevated position (this is called gravitational potential energy). Pile drivers work by this principal: a heavy column is lifted (which takes energy) and then is released, and the gravitational potential energy that was stored in it is let lose and does work, driving something into the ground.
