Do we know the real cost of electrical energy production? Is it unknown? Thank you!

If you consider the environmental costs that may not show up until many decades later, the answer is probably no. Nevertheless, utility companies that pay the costs of production, including capital investment, are able to put a value of the costs so that they sell the energy at a reasonable profit.
