After the Kedron Brook flooded in 2011, Toombul shopping centre experienced large amount of flooding in the Toombul carpark and many surrounding areas. This flooding was caused by excessive rainfall during the 2011 floods. Since the floods, Toombul shopping centre has been closed for rebuilding and restoring of the many stores with water damage and excessive amounts of mould.

Toombul last flooded in 2011, with water levels between 10 and 15m above the original height of the river. Much of the shopping centre had over 7m of water covering the ground.
