2. A person is walking in downtown Chicago. He starts 7 blocks north and 3 blocks west of the city’s center. He then walks to a position of 12 blocks north and 1 block east of the city’s center. What was his displacement magnitude and direction?
Magnitude 16.2 blocks; direction -68.2 east of north
Magnitude 19.1 blocks; direction -6.01 east of north
Magnitude 6.40 blocks ; direction 51.3 east of north
Magnitude 6.40 blocks; direction 38.7 east of north(my guess)
4. On a map, a measurement of 1.0 cm represents a velocity of 100 m/s. If you were to draw a vector on the map that represents 80 m/s, how long would the vector be?
8.0 mm
8.0 cm(my guess)
1.25 mm
1.25 cm
5. The Vector -B(arrow on top —>) has a magnitude of 25 m and makes an angle of 30 degrees with the +x axis. Which is true about the vector B—>
It has the same direction as B—> but a magnitude of -25 m
It makes an angle of -30 degrees with the +x axis.
It has a magnitude of 25 m.
It has the opposite direction as B—> and a magnitude of -25 m(my guess)
Please help!

No way Ms Sue posted that.
Second:
1.
North 7+12 = 19
East -3 + 1 = -2
magnitude = sqrt (4+361) = sqrt 365 = 19.1
That is really all you need
however You are west of north
tan angle w of n = 2/19 =.105
so angle = 6 degrees west of n (which is -6 east of n :)
8.0 mm
8.0 cm(my guess)
1.25 mm
1.25 cm
=================
no way
1 cm * 80/100 = 0.8 cm which is 8 mm
It has the same direction as B—> but a magnitude of -25 m
It makes an angle of -30 degrees with the +x axis.
It has a magnitude of 25 m.
It has the opposite direction as B—> and a magnitude of -25 m(my guess)
=================
opposite direction but SAME SIZE (magnitude)
30 degrees + 180 degrees = 210 degrees :)
=============
It has a magnitude of 25 m
Is the only one I agree with but check for typos.
Sorry, Babygirl.
