How have the lessons learned from the Holocaust changed the world? What do you think has happened and how we are continually surprised when there are bad people doing evil things in the world.

Unfortunately, the world has seemed to learn little from the Holocaust. Oh, yes, people in western Europe and a few other countries are probably more outraged about systematic killings of ethnic groups. In a few instances -- such as in the former Yugoslavia -- other countries intervened to save large groups of people. But we feel powerless to stop other "ethnic cleansings." Sadly, the Holocaust hasn't seemed to have influenced many other people in the world.
