Human blood, which has a pH of approximately 7.4, is a/an _______ substance.
A. neutral C. basic
B. acidic D. alkaline
The body maintains a pH of 7.5, and human blood has a
normal range between 7.35 to 7.45—almost neutral.
Numbers below 7 are increasingly acidic, and numbers
above 7 are increasingly alkaline (sometimes called
basic).
I'm confused, plz help.
I think the answer (A) but I think it is (D) also.

Blood is a weakly alkaline substance. Answer D is best. Answer C is correct, but best form terminology is alkaline. If I were the grader, I would count both correct. It is a lousy question.
thanks!
