-3/[(5/x)+y]

Can someone please tell me how one goes about simplifying this?

Multiply numerator and denominator by x.

would the answer be -3x/5+y?

No. YOu forgot to multpy the y by x, it would have an xy in the denominator.

gotcha thanks
