In Harry Potter, a character named Ginny Weasley was taken into the Chamber of Secrets by the Basilisk, and she was eventually saved by Harry Potter. However, the character that was killed in the Chamber of Secrets was Moaning Myrtle. She was killed by the Basilisk and haunted the bathroom in which she died for years afterward.

Myrtle went to unlock the door to tell the boy to go away before saying that she died.
